Everett S. LeMaster, 97, of Murphy died Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at his residence.  A native of Martinsburg, WV, Everett had lived in Murphy but had moved to Bakersfield, CA before returning to Murphy in 1978. He was a locomotive engineer with Southern-Pacific Railroad, retiring in 1975 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Murphy Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He was the son of the late Everett H. and Lucretia Ferner LeMaster and the husband of the late Addie Beatrice Davis LeMaster, who died May 28, 2009. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Elta Lavene Cover.

Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Ann Boling of Fresno, CA and Sandra Sue Curtin of Boulder, CO; and four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 10, 2011 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Revs. Don Yancheson and Eddis Dockery officiating. Interment was in Hanging Dog Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Tim Murray, Greg and Jay Cover, Rex and Steve Davis, and Jack Elder.

The family received friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Everett S. LeMaster to the Murphy Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1576 Old Ranger Road, Murphy, NC 28906 or the Valley River Humane Society, 7450 US 19, Marble, NC 28905.

Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy in charge of all arrangements.

My life was better for having known both Lee and Bea.I rejoice for Lee that he has re-joined Bea and Elta in a better place. For his family and many friends;peace be with you as you recall your times with Lee. I say goodbye to a truly good man.

Mr. LeMaster was such a nice guy i always enjoyed talking with him, Always kind and in a good mood I'm sure he will be missed by all who knew Him..

I went everett home along while back.He was nice person he ask me to stay a little while and talk.I said ok we sit and talked and then he helped me while i was there.I was bringing something to him.He will be missed Always
