Rest In Peace. Lightning was one of my heroes. I grew up watching him race at Brasstown. I also remember that beautiful 1960 Impala that he cruised in. I saw him at Cleveland Speedway last year and we visited for a few minutes. Wish that I was there to pay my respects to such a great man.

What fond memories I have of "Lightning" as a child growing up in Murphy. To Grace, Michael and all the rest of the family, the community has lost a wonderful man - and you have lost a great family man. May you be blessed by longtime, happy memories and may these sustain you during this difficult time.

My heart goes out to the Mauldin family. I am a friend of Jenny's and I know the sadness of loss but "Lightning" is at peace now and home with the Lord and angels. Words can't take away the pain but he lives on in your hearts. My thoughts, love and prayers are with you.
With sincere sympathy,
Karen
