I was saddened to see of Gene's passing. Years ago when I worked at Dickey Supply, I waited on Gene and we got along really well and started talking. I was from Chicago, and he had worked in Gary, IN, so we had something in common. When he would come into the store, I would lower my voice like his was, and I would say, Easy Money!." Gene would always reply with, "Hey, what's happening man?" He was a really swell guy, and I'll miss seeing him around town in his little red V. W.
