Nick Noland, 78, of Hayesville passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018 in a Gainesville, Georgia hospital. He was a native of Charleston, West Virginia, but had lived in Atlanta, Georgia and Vermont before moving to Clay County in 1988. Nick served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Era veteran. He enjoyed the time he spent stationed in Germany. Nick worked as an owner throughout his life and was successful in all of his business endeavors. He had worked locally at Import Auto Service. Nick enjoyed riding motorcycles and RVing.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Chris Noland; his cherished dog, Katie; sister-in-law, Beverly McDougall of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; brother-in-law, Harold Hal Brindley III of Charlottesville, Virginia; and niece, Sheryl Whitehurst of Fuquay-Varina and two nephews, Brad Sanders of Bali, Indonesia and Todd Sanders of Long Creek, South Carolina, and their families.
A Celebration of Life was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2018 in the Hayesville First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Nick Noland to the Valley River Humane Society, PO Box 658, Murphy, NC 28906.

honest person. He was always nice to me.
I know what you are going through, because I lost my
husband, Rick, on July 4th. Prayers and family and
