Garland Mull, 82, of Hayesville passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017 in a Clay County care facility. He was a native and lifetime resident of Clay County. Garland had worked at Coats America, retiring after many years. He was a member of the Hayesville Church of God. Garland enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching NASCAR, and going to church singings.

 

He was the son of the late Everett and Mae Mosteller Mull and the husband of the late Ethel Rowland Mull, who died November 18, 2004. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Mull and Betty Freeland; and a brother, William Mull.

 

Surviving are a daughter, Anita Shook and husband, Mark of Hiawassee, Georgia; a son, Marvin Mull and wife, Elaine of Hayesville; three sisters, Artie Guffey of Dallas, Georgia, Ruby McCray of Hayesville, and Minnie Sanders of Blue Ridge, Georgia; four brothers, Willard Mull and Kenneth Mull, both of Hayesville, Gordon Mull of Castle Rock, Washington, and twin brother, Garnett Mull of Canton, Ohio; three grandsons, Nathan Mull, and Justin and Josh Shook; three great granddaughters, Aizy and Addie Shook, and Savannah Coker; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services were held at 3:00 PM Sunday, November 12, 2017 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Revs. Bill Dyer and Curtis Ledford officiating. The interment was in Union Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Nathan, Lucas, and Shane Mull, Justin and Josh Shook, and Jeff Rowland.

 

The family received friends from 1-2:45 Sunday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Garland Mull to Ivie Funeral Home to help with final expenses.

 

Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville in charge of all arrangements.

Very sorry to hear of Garland's death. My parents, Roy and Aline Mosteller ALWAYS had only kind and good things to say about Garland and his family. I remember him as a godly man who liked to pray at church.

Anita, I'm so sorry to hear about your Dads passing. We didn't know about it or we would have stopped by to pay our respects yesterday after church. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. We love you!
