I'm an old friend, customer of Jack. I've been gone from Andrews, NC for many years but used to visit on weekends from my military assignment in Ft. Gordon, GA. Today, I met my old Army buddy and had asked about Jack, and just learned of his passing. He talked me into singing in the choir at FBC on the weekends I was in Andrews. I knew he was special to take an interest in me. I have a picture of him combing his horse. I'm sorry for your loss, but rejoice knowing that he is enjoying his eternal life in heaven.

I have tried to get phone numbers to call each of you to pass on my heartfelt condolences. I pray for peace and comfort for you. Mr. Mintz was very kind to my father, Purel Miller, in his later years. He was such a handsome and kind man when I was a youngster passing the barber shop on Main Street with the striped barber pole. We called him a movie star. My best wishes to all of you, his family and friends.

So sorry for your loss - he was a wonderful and cheerful man! Jack was my mothers cousin (Lura Barton Mintz and my grandfather Cecil Barton were siblings). He was also one of my Dad's best friends!

My condolence. Jack encompasses some of my fondest my favorite child hood memories. Always, even into adulthood, calling me Smiley. I'd always stop by to see him as a child at his shop. I'd jump up in the vac act chair, he'd go get me some nab crackers and an RC. He was bigger than life to me. It always brighten my day just to see him or run into him. He will be greatly missed. What a reunion there was in Heaven.
