Sarah C. Hyde, 80, of Andrews passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 in an Andrews care facility. She was a native and lifelong resident of Andrews. She was a 1952 graduate of Mars Hill College. Sarah worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses with the majority being at Valley River Clinic. She was a member of Valley River Baptist Church, serving as Sunday School teacher, secretary, and treasurer for several years. She was active in the WMU. Sarah enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and working in her flowers.
She was the daughter of the late Frank and Hester Clark and the wife of the late David H. Hyde, who died November 6, 2006. She was preceded in death by four sisters and a brother.
Surviving are a daughter, Leslie Jordan and husband, Adam of McDonough, Georgia; a son, John David Hyde and wife, Kim of Blue Ridge, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Tyler and Caleb Hyde, Tamara Silvers, Kelley and Emily Kaylor, and Davis and Reagan Jordan; and five great grandchildren, Preston, Brock, and Brooklyn Hyde, and Ivy and Landon Silvers.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 26 in the Valley River Baptist Church with the Revs. Roy Phillips and Buddy Pittman officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Donnie Ray Bradley, Ronnie Bradley, Tony Bradley, John Gaither, Brandon Hyde, and Kenny Hyde.
The family received friends from 12-1:45 Wednesday afternoon at the Valley River Baptist Church prior to the services.
