I have respect, and admiration for such a generous man, and very talented too. The Davidson family as, a whole, are excellent folks who would give their arms to help. May they always have friends and loved ones by their side always . His daughter Kay is a great example of her father's generous heart. She has helped me and her grandchildren for going on 4 years. We have lived in her home., I am learning to be more like you. Thank you. Cecilia. MULKEY. DaUGHTER :Erin Marcella Mulkey and Rodrigo Davison Mulkey.

Jan and Kay,
I just can't express what your dad meant to me! We worked together for a good many years at NCDVA and he became my mentor and friend. His sense of humor was a delight and got us through some rough days. I am a better person from having known him and will miss his warm smile and friendly greeting of "puddin" Our loss is Kathleen's gain. My deepest, deepest condolences to you and your family.

John was a dear friend who became a second father to me. For years he would drive here to Asheville, go by Greenlife and say hi to my wife Mary, then come over to the Grove Park Inn to see me, Maddy, Jay and the band. He'd play a tune on the piano. then take pictures of guests and send them copies in the mail. He just loved people and never knew a stranger - we miss him dearly, and send our love and sympathy to his family.

John, you were an inspiration to several generations and to so many people in a variety of social communities and locations. Your smile and sense of humor always lighted up the room when you entered, and your music brought joy into our hearts. We will miss you and that strong presence that you brought with you wherever you went. You truly lived life to the fullest with heart and soul. I am glad to have called you a friend! Much love to you and your family!

John always had a smile and a good word for everyone. It was as if he never met a stranger. My mom and dad considered John and Kathleen to be some of their closest friends and that friendship can now continue.

A smile automatically comes to my face when I think of John Davidson. When I worked for the Congressman in the Cherokee County Courthouse, he would come by to see me and bring pictures of events that he and I had attended. He always had a funny story to tell me to make my day brighter. I will miss him but know he is making others smile now.

I owe my career and my marriage to John Davidson, who helped me attain a full scholarship to UNC Chapel Hill where I majored in journalism and went to work in my chosen profession immediately after graduation. I met my future husband in the newsroom.
John was a great friend of my dad's, who spoke of him often .I have a wonderful photograph of the two of them, standing together on Veterans Day on the square in Murphy.
