Richard McClure, 57, of Winston Salem, NC, formerly of Andrews, died Wednesday, May 4, 2004 in Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston Salem. A native of Cherokee County, Richard had been living in High Point, NC and Winston Salem since 1988. He was the son of the late Ernest and Myrtle Mathis McClure. He retired from the furniture industry and was a member of the Valleytown Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sisters, Ruby Lee and husband, Paul, Roberta Owenby and husband, Mitchell, and Ruth Tomlin and husband, Jim all of High Point; and a brother, Roy McClure and wife, Connie of High Point.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 8 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews with the Rev. Mitchell Owenby officiating. Burial was in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Patton, Tommy Lee, Bobby Rogers, Jerry Lambert, Larry Hicks, and Jim Tomlin.

The family received friends from 12:30-1:45 Saturday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews prior to the services.
