Catherine McKeithan Shelton Moore, 94, of Bolivia, NC died Sunday, February 14, 2010 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Life Care Center.  She was born in Brunswick County, NC on May 23, 1915. She retired from Baker Furniture and was a lifelong homemaker. She loved gardening and her flowers. Catherine was a member of Moss Memorial Baptist Church in Hayesville.

She was the daughter of the late David Preston McKeithan Sr. and Susie Knox McKeithan and the wife of the late Oscar Shelton Sr., who died July 19, 1972 and Charlie Moore, who died Feb. 7, 1990. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Judy Bennett.

She is survived by her son, Robert A. Shelton and wife, Billie Ann; a sister-in-law, Alfreida McKeithan; two grandchildren, Sandy Shelton and Alan Shelton of Atlanta; several nieces and nephews; and her loyal companion, “Bud.”

A memorial service was held at 3:00 PM Saturday, June 12, 2010 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Rev. Charles Shelton officiating.
