Mark "Motor" Hoffman, 30, of Hayesville died Monday, February 23, 2004 in an Atlanta, GA hospital. A native of Macon County, he had lived in Clay County until moving to Gainesville, GA, where he lived for seven years before moving back to Clay County three months ago. He had attended Tri-County Community College welding school. He was presently working as a construction worker for Ratley Construction. Mark attended the Shooting Creek Church of God. He enjoyed watching and attending NASCAR racing, fishing, and CB radios.

Surviving are his father and step-mother, Marvin and Ruby Hoffman of Hayesville; his mother and step-father, Beatrice and Thomas Gaddy of Trinity, NC; two aunts, Janice Patterson of Hayesville and Tammy Wilson of High Point, NC; three uncles, Noland Huffman and I.B. Patterson both of Hayesville, and Bruce Patterson of Cornelia, GA; the paternal grandmother, Ruth Patterson of Hayesville; and the maternal grandmother, Margie Williams of Trinity.

Funeral services were held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, February 25 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Rev. Eddie Brewer officiating. Interment was at 10:00 AM Thursday, February 26 in the Moss Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Rex Patterson, Cameron Henderson, Kenneth Reynolds, Ellis Parker, Ernest Anderson, and Darrell Reynolds.

The family received friends from 5:30-6:45 Wednesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.

The family requests memorials be made to the Moss Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 1126, Hayesville, NC 28904.
