Jane Cover Orr, 89, of Andrews died Thursday, December 25, 2003 in an Andrews care facility. A native of Buncombe County, NC, but had lived in this area most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Giles William and Lilly Mae Brittian Cover, and the wife of the late Marshall Pinckney Orr, Jr. She had taught school in Andrews and Florida, and had been an English professor at Western Carolina University. She was a member of the AAUW and Delta Kappa Gamma. Jane was also a member of the Saint Andrew Lutheran Church.

Surviving are a son, Marshall Pinckney Orr, III of Arcadia, FL; a sister, Eleanor Ennis of Andrews; two grandsons, Joseph Michael Orr and Mark William Orr, both of Arcadia, FL; and four great grandsons.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 PM Sunday, Dec. 28 in the Saint Andrew Lutheran Church in Andrews with the Rev. George Simmons officiating. Burial was in the Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers were Giles, Jeffery, and Greg Ennis, Brandon, Adam, and Logan Clonts.

The family received friends from 6:00-8:00 Saturday evening, Dec. 27 at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews.
