Kenneth A. Longer, age 68, of Kendall, New York, passed away on Friday, April 12th, 2019 in Hayesville, North Carolina. He was born in Sunbury, Pennsylvania.

Kenneth was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Army. He worked for Kodak for 34 years, retiring in 2005 as a supervisor. Kenneth was a member of the Brockport Free Methodist Church in Brockport, New York. He belonged to the Bedford Light Artillery.  He was a private and served as chaplain; also active in the Conservative Party and SCOPE. Kenneth enjoyed gardening and deer hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Deborah K. Longer; his sons, Jacob Longer of Kendall, New York and Daniel Longer of Rosedale, Maryland; a daughter, Katherine Wood of Hayesville, North Carolina; brothers, Glen Longer of Hilton, New York, Robert Longer and wife, Sandra of Lyons, New York, and Steve Longer of Canaseraga, New York; and two grandchildren, Toby Wood and Carter Longer.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the Brockport Free Methodist Church. Burial was held with military honors in Parma Union Cemetery.

The family received friends from 4 - 7 PM Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., 735 East Avenue, Hilton, New York.
