Frances Irene Arrowood, 80, of Murphy died Wednesday, January 28 at her residence. A native of Swain County, she had lived in Cherokee County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Vernon and Viola Flowers Herron and the wife of the late Winslow Arrowood. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Liberty Baptist Church.

Surviving are an aunt, Clara Flowers Sessons of Portsmouth, VA; an uncle, Hubert Flowers and wife, Geneva of Hayesville; and several cousins.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 31 in Mount Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Cook officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Danny and Michael Creasman, and Oliver, Edwin, Larry, and Don Flowers.

The family received friends from 12:30-1:45 Saturday afternoon in the Mount Liberty Baptist Church prior to the services.
