Marguerite “Peggy” Braswell, 90, of Robbinsville passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 in a Graham County care facility. She was a native of Raleigh, North Carolina and later met her husband, Dan, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Together, they had lived many places but Bowling Green, Kentucky was their most lasting residence.  Peggy worked as a beautician in every place they lived. She was wonderfully dedicated to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Ross Edward and Gladys Mozzelle Williams Shumaker. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Betsy Massey; and a brother, James Huste.

Surviving are her husband, Dan Braswell; a daughter, Cheri Rose Braswell of Lillington, North Carolina; five sons, Donald R. Kubeny Jr. of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Ross E. Kubeny and wife, Cathy C. of Lillington, North Carolina, Linville L. Braswell of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Daniel L. Braswell Jr. and Robert C. Braswell, both of Lillington, North Carolina; two sisters, Frances Rhyne of Newport, Tennessee and Elaine Wilkes and husband, Ted of Hockessin, Delaware; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held at 3:00 PM Saturday, May 6, 2017 in Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church in Robbinsville with Brother Jimmy Millsaps officiating.
