Gerald Garfield, 80, of Hayesville passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 in a Clay County care facility. He was a native of Queens, New York and had lived at Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida before moving to Clay County a year ago. He was a graduate of Brooklyn School of Pharmacy and owned and operated two pharmacies in Saint Thomas.

He was the son of the late Harry and Lillie Bloom Garfield.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda Schneider Garfield; two sons, Robert Garfield and wife, Felicia of Brooklyn, New York and Scott Garfield of Hayesville; a brother, Herb Garfield of New York, New York; and a grandson, Zachery Garfield.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
